Today is uniquely ours. The spiritual blessings enjoyed by those before us are just as accessible to us now, provided we are willing to embrace the conditions under which they are given. Even if our era feels overshadowed by moral darkness, it only serves to make our light stand out more vividly. God is present in our lives today just as He was in the past, and wherever the future leads, His faithfulness remains unchanged, just as it was with Abraham, David, and Paul. Those remarkable figures lived in their own times, and while we cannot have them with us now, we can rejoice and praise God. We may not have their presence, but we have something far greater: we share in their relationship with God the Father, their Savior, and the same Holy Spirit who empowered them. (Tozer)
