70.h. Revelation 3:20

Revelation 3:20  Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

Galatians 2:20  I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

1 Corinthians 3:16: “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?”

Romans 8:9: “You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.”

John 14:17: “He is the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”

Romans 8:11: “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”

Galatians 5:22-23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

John 14:26: “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

Acts 2:38: “Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'”

When we open the door for Christ, do we say You have free reign in my heart and mind?

Do we allow Him access to every closet and room?

Here are some rooms that we may put behind locked doors and not want to give access; greed room, envy room, pride room, lust room, drunk room, addiction room, lazy room, complacent room, fear room, worry room, jealousy room, anger room, impatient room, unkind room, worldly passion room, unforgiveness room, hate room, boastful room, self-worth room, boastful room, hardened heart room, deaf ears room, stiff neck room, unbelief room, glutenous room, pleasure room, busyness of life room, fault with others room, joyless room, self-reliance room, blind to sin room, neglectful room, desireless for His Word room, etc…….

Revelation 2:17     He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says …….

The indwelling Holy Spirit, at times,  whispers and other times shouts within our hearts and minds once we open the door to and receive salvation.

The Holy Spirit will give and fill us with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The Holy Spirit will lead us in truth, knowledge, and understanding through God’s Word.

It is one thing to open the door and a completely another to give free access to all of the rooms of our hearts and minds once the Holy Spirit is within us.

To be filled with the Holy Spirit requires all of the doors in our hearts and minds to be accessible and be willing, desiring, and seeking to hear and follow the Holy Spirit’s leading.

Oh that we had the heart of David.

Psalms 139:23-24  Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me and lead me in the way everlasting!
