Zachariah 4:1\u00a0 <\/span>Zechariah 4:1 \u00a0 <\/span>Then the angel who talked with me returned and woke me up, like someone awakened from sleep. He asked me, \u201cWhat do you see?\u201d I answered, \u201cI see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl at the top and seven lamps on it, with seven channels to the lamps. Also there are two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.\u201d I asked the angel who talked with me, \u201cWhat are these, my lord?\u201d He answered, \u201cDo you not know what these are?\u201d \u201cNo, my lord,\u201d I replied. So he said to me, \u201cThis is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: \u2018Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,\u2019 says the Lord Almighty. \u201cWhat are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of \u2018God bless it! God bless it!\u2019\u201d Then the word of the Lord came to me: \u201cThe hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. \u201cWho dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?\u201d Then I asked the angel, \u201cWhat are these two olive trees on the right and the left of the lampstand?\u201d Again I asked him, \u201cWhat are these two olive branches beside the two gold pipes that pour out golden oil?\u201d He replied, \u201cDo you not know what these are?\u201d \u201cNo, my lord,\u201d I said. So he said, \u201cThese are the two who are anointed to serve the Lord of all the earth.\u201d<\/p>\n

2 Chronicles 14:11<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0And Asa cried to the LORD his God, \u201cO LORD, there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O LORD our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude. O LORD, you are our God; let not man prevail against you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Zachariah was given a vision\/prophecy to encourage Zerubbabel who was in charge of rebuilding the temple.\u00a0 <\/span>The temple was in complete ruin and had been torn down some 70 plus years ago. Money was short, supplies were short, and the commitment of the people was lacking.\u00a0 <\/span>The task given to Zerubbabel was more than what would seem possible.\u00a0 <\/span>The words of encouragement to him; \u201cNot by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty\u201d,\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cWhat are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground.\u201d and \u201cThe hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple, his hands will also complete it.\u201d<\/p>\n

We would do well to learn from these words of encouragement.\u00a0 <\/span>It is not by our own efforts, strength, and power will the mountain high and seemingly undoable tasks for God be accomplished in our lives.\u00a0 <\/span>It is not the work of our hands, but by and through the power and might of Lord Almighty.\u00a0 <\/span>How many times do we become defeated in what the Lord would have us do?\u00a0 <\/span>How many times does the rubble of our lives defeat our calling to humbly serve, honor, glorify, follow, obey, and trust Jesus Christ?\u00a0 <\/span>Isn\u2019t it when we are thinking the work being done and accomplished are by our efforts, our hands, our strength, our might, our wisdom, and somehow our glory?\u00a0 <\/span>There is no task\/work given to us by God that His power and might can not complete.\u00a0 <\/span>When our eyes are focused on Him, when we find our strength in Him,\u00a0 <\/span>and when we surrender all to Him is when we will accomplish that which seems impossible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
