Nahum 1:7\u00a0 <\/span>The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him. But with an overflowing flood he will make a complete end of the adversaries, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.<\/p>\n

1 Chronicles 16:34<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!<\/p>\n

Psalms 25:8<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way.<\/p>\n

Psalms 100:5<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.<\/p>\n

Lamentations 3:25<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.<\/p>\n

Romans 11:22<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Do you think about the \u201cGood of our Lord and Savior\u201d?\u00a0 <\/span>I am sure thoughts about His saving grace, mercy, forgiveness, and promise of forever with Him in eternity are present most days.\u00a0 <\/span>But the \u201cGood or our Savior\u201d is more than that.\u00a0 <\/span>He has given us each talent to use.\u00a0 <\/span>These talents allow us to fix, repair, build, grow, lead, and apply knowledge.\u00a0 <\/span>These are not burdens but often we fall into the trap of calling them a burden.\u00a0 <\/span>We say things like \u201cI have to\u201d do something rather than thanking God for the talents that allow us to say \u201cI get to\u201d do something.\u00a0 <\/span>These talents are not a burden, they are God\u2019s gift to us.\u00a0 <\/span>He has given us abilities that help us and certainly can be used to help others.\u00a0 <\/span>These abilities are not \u201cI have to\u2019s\u201d but \u201cI get to\u2019s\u201d.\u00a0 <\/span>When we have thoughts of our abilities as having to use them we won\u2019t have a mindset to be thanking God for them.\u00a0 <\/span>We will have thoughts of them being a burden and our heart for whatever the task is will not be giving God praise and thanks.\u00a0 <\/span>Granted some of our gifts will get us dirty, tired, and mentally exhausted as we use them.\u00a0 <\/span>It sure makes the task or job much more meaningful to do when we \u201cget to\u201d use our gifts rather than \u201chave to\u201d.\u00a0 <\/span>Each of us has been given both physical and spiritual gifts.\u00a0 <\/span>In these gifts of abilities and talents, we have a great opportunity to thank and honor God by how we use them and how we think about \u201cGetting to\u201d use them.\u00a0 <\/span>When have you taken a mental inventory of all the gifts, talents, and abilities God has given you?\u00a0 <\/span>When we are mindful of them it is a good foundation for putting honor and glory and thankfulness in to \u201cGetting to us them\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
