1Corinthians 15:47<\/span>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven.<\/span>\u00a0As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.<\/span>\u00a0Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The question of one\u2019s purpose in life is posed this way: \u201cWhat is your purpose in life?\u201d It reflects our interest in finding God\u2019s path for the future. But purpose can also be discussed a different way: \u201cWhat is God\u2019s\u00a0ultimate<\/em>\u00a0purpose for your life?\u201d That suggests there is an eternal purpose to which all of our changing experiences and directions in life contribute.<\/div>\n
Then there is: Christlikeness. Remember: Paul wrote that Christ was the \u201clast Adam,\u201d the One who came to redeem and restore what the \u201cfirst man Adam\u201d lost (1 Corinthians 15:45). God\u2019s ultimate purpose for us is to be conformed to the image of His Son so \u201cthat He might be the firstborn among many brethren\u201d (Romans 8:29). The Holy Spirit contributes to our conformation to Christ by giving us gifts (Christ\u2019s hands) and traits (Christ\u2019s heart) through the fruit of the Spirit. God even uses the difficult times in our life to conform us to Christ (Romans 8:28-29). You likely have a purpose for today. But remember it is only a step on the path to God\u2019s ultimate purpose of Christlikeness.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
