Look at what Isaiah said after a vision of the Lord of hosts: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips”. Isaiah had a starting point “Fear of God”. I know “fear” can be misunderstood so I have copied this for a reference to help understand the meaning intended: “The Hebrew verb yare can mean “to fear, to respect, to reverence” and the Hebrew noun yirah “usually refers to the fear of God and is viewed as a positive quality. This fear acknowledges God’s good intentions (Ex. 20:20). … This fear is produced by God’s Word (Ps. 119:38; Prov. 2:5) and makes a person receptive to wisdom and knowledge (Prov. 1:7; 9:10)” (Warren Baker and Eugene Carpenter, The Complete Word Study Dictionary: Old Testament, 2003, pp. 470-471”. Isaiah began with a reverence and respect of God and who He is. Without this reverence and respect for God, His word will be meaningless, His promises empty, His salvation rejected, and His purpose seems foolish. Without this reverence and respect our heart is hardened and though we may read or hear the word of God it will have no place to root in our heart. Proverbs says the beginning of all wisdom is fear (reverence and respect) of the Lord. The verses today speak of those who have this reverence and respect of God and those who do not. Hold tight to this reverence and respect. With this as a firm anchor in your life His word will have great impact and purpose in your life.

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.” “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” “While you … Continue reading “Reverence & Respect – King of Glory”

[1
1157,1657,1658,2449,2453,2447,717,2460,448,2450,724,2462,2455,1575,2451,283,2459,1040,2458,2456,2457,2461,2448,325,2452,2454,442
post-8256","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-daily-prayers","tag-ashamed","tag-be-warned","tag-be-wise","tag-blessed-inherit","tag-blinded-their-eyes","tag-comes-in-glory","tag-devine-power","tag-escaped-corruption","tag-father","tag-foundation-of-the-world","tag-godliness","tag-hardened-their-hearts","tag-heal-them","tag-holy","tag-king-of-glory","tag-knowledge","tag-partakers","tag-perish","tag-precious-very-great-promises","tag-seen-me","tag-serve-the-lord-with-fear","tag-sinful-desire","tag-son-of-man","tag-throne","tag-unclean-lips","tag-understand-with-the-heart","tag-wrath
["GET
