Psalms 22:1\u00a0 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?\u00a0O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest.\u00a0Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.\u00a0In you our fathers trusted; they trusted, and you delivered them.\u00a0To you they cried and were rescued; in you they trusted and were not put to shame.\u00a0But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind and despised by the people.\u00a0All who see me mock me; they make mouths at me; they wag their heads;\u00a0\u201cHe trusts in the LORD; let him deliver him; let him rescue him, for he delights in him!\u201d\u00a0Yet you are he who took me from the womb; you made me trust you at my mother’s breasts.\u00a0On you was I cast from my birth, and from my mother’s womb you have been my God.\u00a0Be not far from me, for trouble is near, and there is none to help.\u00a0Many bulls encompass me; strong bulls of Bashan surround me;\u00a0they open wide their mouths at me, like a ravening and roaring lion.\u00a0I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted within my breast;\u00a0my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to my jaws; you lay me in the dust of death.\u00a0For dogs encompass me; a company of evildoers encircles me; they have pierced my hands and feet\u00a0I can count all my bones\u2014 they stare and gloat over me;\u00a0they divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.\u00a0But you, O LORD, do not be far off! O you my help, come quickly to my aid!\u00a0Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog!\u00a0Save me from the mouth of the lion!<\/p>\n
You not only read, but feel the cry for help. \u00a0In our worst times God is still there and for some reason His time of rescue and ours are not the same. \u00a0He is able to do all things at any time, so why is it the answer to our request many times comes after a waiting period? \u00a0There are many ideas that come to mind but more than likely they are all wrong or partially correct at best. \u00a0Know that God is God and we are not. \u00a0In Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Waiting never seems right in our eyes but who are we to question God. \u00a0If we say we trust Him then should n’t we also wait? Shouldn’t we accept whatever the timing and outcome? \u00a0This is so much easier said than practiced. \u00a0Trust Him and lean not onto your own understanding – He is God alone who can do more than we ask and much more than we can imagine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
