Job 1:13-22 \u00a0 <\/span>Now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, and there came a messenger to Job and said, \u201cThe oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them, and the Sabeans fell upon them and took them and struck down the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.\u201d While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, \u201cThe fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.\u201d While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, \u201cThe Chaldeans formed three groups and made a raid on the camels and took them and struck down the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.\u201d While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, \u201cYour sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, and behold, a great wind came across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young people, and they are dead, and I alone have escaped to tell you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, \u201cNaked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n

In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.<\/p>\n

Genesis 3:19<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.\u201d<\/p>\n

When we limit God\u2019s\u00a0omnipotence<\/span><\/a> we can only end up, as Kushner did when he wrote: \u201cWhen bad things happen to good people\u201d. Kushner addresses the conundrum of why, if the universe was created and is governed by a\u00a0God<\/span><\/a>\u00a0who is of good and loving nature, there is nonetheless so much suffering and pain in it – essentially, the evidential\u00a0problem of evil<\/span><\/a>. Kushner seeks to offer comfort to grieving people. His answer to the philosophical problem is that God does his best and is with people in their suffering, but is not fully able to prevent it.<\/p>\n

This book was on the Best Seller list for many months.\u00a0 <\/span>Why was it on the best sellers list?\u00a0 <\/span>Because when we limit God\u2019s omnipotence, \u201cHe could not prevent it\u201d, somehow we can accept what has happened.\u00a0 <\/span>God loves me and wanted to prevent this tragedy but was unable to stop it from happening.\u00a0 <\/span>Think about this for a second.\u00a0 <\/span>God the creator of everything out of nothing(Omnipotent) and who is every present everywhere (Omnipresent) is somehow not omnipotent in what transpires within His creation.<\/p>\n

Who can say what is right or wrong, or good or bad with what God purposes and plans?\u00a0 <\/span>Who can adequately explain the workings of God?\u00a0 <\/span>God\u2019s word says He loves me unconditionally and that he can do more than I ask and much more than I can imagine.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cFor God so loved the world that He gave His only Son\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cHe will never leave you or forsake you\u201d \u201cFor I know the\u00a0plans I have<\/b>\u00a0for\u00a0you<\/b>,\u201d declares the LORD, \u201cplans<\/b>\u00a0to prosper\u00a0you<\/b>\u00a0and not to harm\u00a0you<\/b>,\u00a0plans<\/b>\u00a0to give\u00a0you<\/b>\u00a0hope and a future.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cFor\u00a0my thoughts are not your thoughts<\/b>, neither are your ways my ways,\u201d declares the LORD. \u201cAs the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways\u201d<\/p>\n

Belief in God and salvation through Jesus Christ His Son is clinging to, relying on, and trusting in Him alone no matter what happens.\u00a0 <\/span>His ways and will are perfect and even if I do not understand them I can trust Him.<\/p>\n

Everything in this world is in the hands of the eternal creator.\u00a0 <\/span>We do have temporary care of what God gives us and at the same time, we must be willing to give it up for His plans and purposes of which will may not fully understand but can fully trust.\u00a0 <\/span>Job said it well \u201cNaked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
