Nehemiah 8:9\u00a0 <\/span>And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, \u201cThis day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep.\u201d For all the people wept as they heard the words of the Law. Then he said to them, \u201cGo your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.\u201d So the Levites calmed all the people, saying, \u201cBe quiet, for this day is holy; do not be grieved.\u201d And all the people went their way to eat and drink and to send portions and to make great rejoicing, because they had understood the words that were declared to them.<\/p>\n

2 Chronicles 34:21<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0\u201cGo, inquire of the LORD for me and for those who are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that has been found. For great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out on us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do according to all that is written in this book.\u201d<\/p>\n

Romans 3:20<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.<\/p>\n

2 Corinthians 7:9-11<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us.\u00a0\u00a0For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

When we come to God\u2019s word with a desire for it to speak into our life we will be blessed with understanding.\u00a0 <\/span>We will begin to understand God\u2019s holiness, love, power, might, mercy, grace, and wrath.\u00a0 <\/span>We will begin to expose ourselves, our thoughts, our actions, and our\u00a0intents to the light of His word.\u00a0 <\/span>In this light, we find our heart softened and it is at this point we begin our humble reverence and obedience to it.\u00a0 <\/span>Our growth and maturity do not find an end point.\u00a0 <\/span>We come to the light of His word each day and are continuously revealed more and more about the Holiness of God, the love of Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>Thankfully this is never ending.\u00a0 <\/span>Morning by morning new mercies of God\u2019s grace and love are revealed.\u00a0 <\/span>His word will renew, strengthen, refresh, encourage, and protect our heart, mind, and soul from being pulled in by selfish and worldly influences.\u00a0 <\/span>Spend time His word.\u00a0 <\/span>Seek and desire it.\u00a0 <\/span>Commit to it.\u00a0 <\/span>Believe and trust it.\u00a0 <\/span>Be in obedience to it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
