But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p2\">Ezra 7:6<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Ezra went up from Babylonia. He was a scribe skilled in the Law of Moses that the Lord, the God of Israel, had given, and the king granted him all that he asked, for the hand of the Lord his God was on him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">And there went up also to Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king, some of the people of Israel, and some of the priests and Levites, the singers and gatekeepers, and the temple servants. And Ezra came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king. For on the first day of the first month he began to go up from Babylonia, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, for the good hand of his God was on him. For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord, and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">This is a copy of the letter that King Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, a man learned in matters of the commandments of the Lord and his statutes for Israel: \u201cArtaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, the scribe of the Law of the God of heaven. Peace. And now I make a decree that anyone of the people of Israel or their priests or Levites in my kingdom, who freely offers to go to Jerusalem, may go with you. For you are sent by the king and his seven counselors to make inquiries about Judah and Jerusalem according to the Law of your God, which is in your hand,<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><a href=\"verseid:9.7.3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>1 Samuel 7:3<\/b><\/span><\/a><b>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, \u201cIf you are returning to the LORD with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your heart to the LORD and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><a href=\"verseid:19.1.2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Psalms 1:2<\/b><\/span><\/a><b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><a href=\"verseid:19.119.96\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Psalms 119:96-100<\/b><\/span><\/a><b>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0I have seen a limit to all perfection, but your commandment is exceedingly broad. Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.\u00a0\u00a0Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me.\u00a0\u00a0I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation.\u00a0\u00a0I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><a href=\"verseid:40.5.19\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Matthew 5:19<\/b><\/span><\/a><b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><a href=\"verseid:40.7.24\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Matthew 7:24<\/b><\/span><\/a><b>\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0\u201cEveryone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><a href=\"verseid:55.4.2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>2 Timothy 4:2<\/b><\/span><\/a><b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p2\">Ezra set his heart to study, to do, and to teach the word of God.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>If we just set our heart to read God\u2019s word but are not actively thinking about it and wanting to apply it into our life then it has a very limited chance of influencing how we think, what we say, and how we live. intentionally choosing to be influenced and led by God\u2019s word will have an impact on our conduct, faith in action, prayer, and what we think about.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Our thoughts will be on God.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Our actions will be directed by His word.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Our eyes and ears will be open to see and hear His whispers of leading, encouraging, strengthening, guiding, and giving us wisdom and knowledge to discern eternal from temporal, life-giving from life-taking, heavenly from earthly, holiness from sin, truth from false, refuge from abandonment, peace and rest from anxiousness, generosity from greed, humility from pride, heavenly service from self-serving, and faith from fear and worry.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Studying God\u2019s word is life-giving, life-changing, and eternity life benefitting.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Our lives will be forever changed when it becomes the air and breath of our heart, mind, and soul.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ezra 7:6\u00a0 Ezra went up from Babylonia.
