Ezra 4:1\u00a0 <\/span>Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the returned exiles were building a temple to the Lord, the God of Israel, they approached Zerubbabel and the heads of fathers’ houses and said to them, \u201cLet us build with you, for we worship your God as you do, and we have been sacrificing to him ever since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assyria who brought us here.\u201d But Zerubbabel, Jeshua, and the rest of the heads of fathers’ houses in Israel said to them, \u201cYou have nothing to do with us in building a house to our God; but we alone will build to the Lord, the God of Israel, as King Cyrus the king of Persia has commanded us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then the people of the land discouraged the people of Judah and made them afraid to build and bribed counselors against them to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.<\/p>\n

And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, they wrote an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.<\/p>\n

Nehemiah 6:9<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, \u201cTheir hands will drop from the work, and it will not be done.\u201d But now, O God, strengthen my hands.<\/p>\n

Isaiah 35:3-4<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees.\u00a0\u00a0Say to those who have an anxious heart, \u201cBe strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeremiah 38:4<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b> \u201cfor he is weakening the hands of the soldiers who are left in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking such words to them. For this man is not seeking the welfare of this people, but their harm.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The people came together and first built the altar for sacrifice to God.\u00a0 <\/span>When this was completed they laid the foundation for the temple and people shouted with joy, though some wept, because of this great coming together with one purpose – to honor, glorify, and seek God in building His temple.\u00a0 <\/span>People of the land heard of this and acted as though they wanted to help build but after being rejected they were malicious in discouraging and frustrating the people.<\/p>\n

Not much has changed with mankind.\u00a0 <\/span>We still see this happening, people with clear direction and leading from God are being criticized, challenged, and blasted from almost every angle.\u00a0 <\/span>We shouldn\u2019t think this is an attack on us but an attack on God\u2019s plans and purposes.\u00a0 <\/span>If we give any room to thoughts that these attacks are against us we will certainly become weary, afraid, confused, and without motivation.\u00a0 <\/span>However, if we see this as God\u2019s plans and purposes being attacked we can take comfort, strength, and courage because the battle is His.\u00a0 <\/span>We know that He will always accomplish what He speaks and how He leads us in service to Him.<\/p>\n

Keep your eyes on the task and do not become sidetracked by those in opposition.\u00a0 <\/span>God is in control.\u00a0 <\/span>No one can stop what God has put in place.\u00a0 <\/span>Remain strong, remain faithful, remain obedient.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
