2 Kings 4:1\u00a0 <\/span>Now the wife of one of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha, \u201cYour servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord, but the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves.\u201d And Elisha said to her, \u201cWhat shall I do for you? Tell me; what have you in the house?\u201d And she said, \u201cYour servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.\u201d Then he said, \u201cGo outside, borrow vessels from all your neighbors, empty vessels and not too few. Then go in and shut the door behind yourself and your sons and pour into all these vessels. And when one is full, set it aside.\u201d So she went from him and shut the door behind herself and her sons. And as she poured they brought the vessels to her. When the vessels were full, she said to her son, \u201cBring me another vessel.\u201d And he said to her, \u201cThere is not another.\u201d Then the oil stopped flowing. She came and told the man of God, and he said, \u201cGo, sell the oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on the rest.<\/p>\n

Ecclesiastes 8:12<\/b><\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they fear before him.<\/p>\n

Psalms 91:2\u00a0 \u00a0I will say to the LORD, \u201cMy refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.\u00a0<\/span>He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.<\/span>\u00a0You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,<\/span>\u00a0nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.<\/span>\u00a0A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Malachi 4:2<\/b><\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.<\/p>\n

Acts 13:26<\/b><\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0\u201cBrothers, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to us has been sent the message of this salvation.<\/p>\n

Ecclesiastes 12:13<\/b><\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

There are times when all seems too much to bear when trouble and trials seem to stack one on top of another, and we are close to having no hope for tomorrow.\u00a0 <\/span>When we look at our situation and we compare it with everyone else who does not have the burdens, trials, and troubles it leaves us with questions. In times like this it is natural to question our walk with Jesus and think \u201cdid I bring this upon myself,\u201d \u201cis this punishment at the hand of God\u201d, or thought \u201cwhat have I done to deserve this\u201d.\u00a0 <\/span>It may be due to one of these or not.\u00a0 <\/span>It can be a life\u2019s cycle of stuff that happens. We certainly know that stuff happens in this life but we hope it does not happen to us.\u00a0 <\/span>What are we to do when it does?<\/p>\n

Stay in God\u2019s word. Believe in Jesus Christ who is able to do more than we ask and much more than we can imagine. Keep our eyes, heart, mind, trust, hope, faith, and reliance on Jesus Christ. Scripture is full of examples of God working in the lives of those who have put their hope in Him.\u00a0 <\/span>Scripture is full of His promises of refuge, courage, peace, rest, joy, and strength.\u00a0 <\/span>Scripture is full of God intervening in the lives of those who fear Him and are at, what appears to be, no hope.\u00a0 <\/span>In all of this, we are to have steadfast hope in Him and leave room for and trust in His perfect will.\u00a0 <\/span>This is where we find the peace that passes all understanding, hope that never fails, and strength and courage to face whatever comes our way.<\/p>\n

The old hymn says \u201cTurn your eyes upon Jesus, look full into His wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
