Judges 6:35
\nGideon said to God, \u201cIf you will save Israel by my hand as you have promised\u2014 look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you said.\u201d And that is what happened. Gideon rose early the next day; he squeezed the fleece and wrung out the dew\u2014a bowlful of water.
\nThen Gideon said to God, \u201cDo not be angry with me. Let me make just one more request. Allow me one more test with the fleece, but this time make the fleece dry and let the ground be covered with dew.\u201d That night God did so. Only the fleece was dry; all the ground was covered with dew.<\/p>\n
Genesis 24:14
\nAnd he said, \u201cO Lord, God of my master Abraham, please grant me success today and show steadfast love to my master Abraham. Behold, I am standing by the spring of water, and the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water. Let the young woman to whom I shall say, \u2018Please let down your jar that I may drink,\u2019 and who shall say, \u2018Drink, and I will water your camels\u2019\u2014let her be the one whom you have appointed for your servant Isaac. By this I shall know that you have shown steadfast love to my master<\/p>\n
Isaiah 38:7
\n\u201cThis shall be the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing that he has promised: Behold, I will make the shadow cast by the declining sun on the dial of Ahaz turn back ten steps.\u201d So the sun turned back on the dial the ten steps by which it had declined.<\/p>\n
Asking God for a sign is something that has helped men of God who wanted to follow Him know it was from God. \u00a0Their heart desire was to do what He wanted (which by the way was more than likely something deemed impossible). \u00a0As we learn to hear His voice speak to our heart – asking for a sign is less frequent. \u00a0However there are times when the obstacle or burden is so great and the path so unclear that we need a sign from God to build our faith back and give us courage for what we are facing. \u00a0It is a very good idea to know God’s word. \u00a0This gives us confidence in our rock, our strength when we are weak, our power when all hope is gone, our peace when all around us seems in chaos, our ability to love and forgive when those around us seem determined on causing havoc in our life. \u00a0God’s word is a place of hope, for in it we see His love and power. \u00a0Stay in His word.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
