Exodus 33:5<\/b><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/a>\u00a0For the LORD had said to Moses, \u201cSay to the people of Israel, \u2018You are a stiff-necked people;<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 29:4<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0But to this day the LORD has not given you a heart to understand or eyes to see or ears to hear.<\/p>\n

Isaiah 6:9-10<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0And he said, \u201cGo, and say to this people: \u201c\u2018Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeremiah 5:21<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0\u201cHear this, O foolish and senseless people, who have eyes, but see not, who have ears, but hear not.<\/p>\n

John 12:37-41<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in him,\u00a0\u00a0so that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: \u201cLord, who has believed what he heard from us, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Therefore they could not believe. For again Isaiah said,\u00a0\u00a0\u201cHe has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and turn, and I would heal them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Acts 28:25-27<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0And disagreeing among themselves, they departed after Paul had made one statement: \u201cThe Holy Spirit was right in saying to your fathers through Isaiah the prophet:\u00a0\u00a0\u201c\u2018Go to this people, and say, \u201cYou will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0For this people’s heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.\u2019<\/p>\n

Romans 11:8-10<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0as it is written, \u201cGod gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down to this very day.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0And David says, \u201cLet their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them;\u00a0\u00a0let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and bend their backs forever.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Disbelief seems to have many forms.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in the form of hearing truth but denying it.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in the form of seeing great wonders but discounting them.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in hearing truth but denying it applies to them.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in the form of seeing creation but denying God as the creator.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in the form of hearing promises of God but denying them in their life.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in seeing a transformed life but denying God\u2019s hand in it.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in the form of hearing God\u2019s commands but denying they apply to them.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in seeing the work of the Holy Spirit in a life and denying the ability of the Holy Spirit\u2019s existence.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in hearing the conviction of God\u2019s word but denying it.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in seeing love and compassion but denying serving God is the reason.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in hearing place your trust in God but only trusting self or others.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in seeing the needy but denying to help.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in hearing the need to be born again but denying the need.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in seeing the lost but deny telling the Gospel of Jesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in hearing of sin but deny it in their lives.\u00a0 <\/span>It can come in seeing God\u2019s word but denying it has value.\u00a0 <\/span>It comes in hearing of God\u2019s wrath but denying it will affect them.\u00a0 <\/span>It comes in seeing wrong but denying it is wrong.\u00a0 <\/span>It comes in hearing God\u2019s call for repentance but denying the need.\u00a0 <\/span>It comes in seeing complacent service to God but denying it.\u00a0 <\/span>It comes in\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cYou will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0For this people’s heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
