Joshua 22:1
\n\u201cYou have kept all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you and have obeyed my voice in all that I have commanded you<\/strong>. You have not forsaken your brothers these many days, down to this day, but have been careful to keep the charge of the Lord your God. And now the Lord your God has given rest to your brothers<\/strong>, as he promised them
\nOnly be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

Exodus 33:14
\nAnd he said, \u201cMy presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.<\/strong>
\nIs it not in your going with us, so that we are distinct<\/strong>, I and your people, from every other people on the face of the earth.<\/p>\n

Isaiah 63:9
\nI will recount the steadfast love of the Lord,<\/strong>
\n the praises of the Lord,<\/strong>
\naccording to all that the Lord has granted us,
\nand the great goodness to the house of Israel
\nthat he has granted them according to his compassion,
\naccording to the abundance of his steadfast love.
\nFor he said, \u201cSurely they are my people,
\nchildren who will not deal falsely.\u201d
\nAnd he became their Savior.<\/strong>
\n In all their affliction he was afflicted,<\/strong>
\n and the angel of his presence saved them;<\/strong>
\nin his love and in his pity he redeemed them;<\/strong>
\n he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.<\/strong>
\nBut they rebelled
\nand grieved his Holy Spirit;
\ntherefore he turned to be their enemy,
\nand himself fought against them<\/p>\n

Can we ever be reminded enough times? \u00a0I love how this is recorded in Joshua. \u00a0After they had obeyed the voice of God and after their brothers had rest from their enemies they are told that God would now give them rest. \u00a0And after receiving this word they are reminded:\u00a0\u00a0“to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul”. \u00a0 For years they have been obeying and yet they are reminded to Love God, Walk in His Ways, and Serve Him with their whole heart. \u00a0I think the reason for this reminder is that while we are dealing with issues and battles of the heart, mind, and soul our eyes are focused on our source of strength – GOD. \u00a0Where does our heart, mind and soul go to in times of rest? \u00a0This is a good question to ask ourselves. \u00a0Do we continue to seek God, desiring to hear His quite voice into our heart? How many times have you heard people testify to the closest they were to God was when they were yielding all control over to Him because the issue was greater than they could bear? \u00a0It is good to be reminded to keep our heart mind and soul desiring God everyday. \u00a0As well, it is good to ask our brothers and sisters how they are and if they are doing this in times of REST. \u00a0I love the verse in the old hymn “Turn your eyes on Jesus, look full into His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace”. \u00a0Let this be a reminder to each of us for every season of our lives, in times of turmoil and blessing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
