\n\u2018The Lord your God is providing you a place of rest<\/strong> and will give you this land.<\/p>\n

isaiah 11:10
\nIn that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples\u2014of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Jeremiah 6:16
\nThus says the Lord:
\n\u201cStand by the roads, and look,
\nand ask for the ancient paths,
\nwhere the good way is; and walk in it,<\/strong>
\n and find rest for your souls.<\/strong>
\nBut they said, \u2018We will not walk in it. \u2019
\nI set watchmen over you, saying,
\n\u2018Pay attention to the sound of the trumpet! \u2019
\nBut they said, \u2018We will not pay attention. \u2019
\nTherefore hear, O nations,
\nand know, O congregation, what will happen to them.
\nHear, O earth; behold, I am bringing disaster upon this people,
\nthe fruit of their devices,
\nbecause they have not paid attention to my words;
\nand as for my law, they have rejected it.<\/p>\n

Isaiah 40:28
\nThe Lord is the everlasting God,
\nthe Creator of the ends of the earth.
\nHe does not faint or grow weary;
\nhis understanding is unsearchable.
\nHe gives power to the faint,<\/strong>
\nand to him who has no might he increases strength.<\/strong>
\nEven youths shall faint and be weary,
\nand young men shall fall exhausted;
\nbut they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;<\/strong>
\nthey shall mount up with wings like eagles;
\nthey shall run and not be weary;
\nthey shall walk and not faint.<\/p>\n

I see this happening over and over again. \u00a0In times of trials and heavy burdens people turn to God for peace and rest. \u00a0They come to a place where “doing it on their own” is not working out and the desire\/seek God’s hand in their life. \u00a0Why is it that we “run” to God when we are finally broken but in times of little to no trials or burdens we seem to not see the need for God? \u00a0Could it be that our walk with Him is superficial? \u00a0What does it say about a life that only seeks God when times are rough? \u00a0What would you think about a son or daughter who only spoke to their earthly father when they needed something or were in trouble? \u00a0They never went to see their father any other time. \u00a0They never invited him to any part of their life. \u00a0Only when they were in need did they contact him. \u00a0I am confident you get the point – God, our heavenly Father, wants our heart desire to be for Him, to serve Him, to seek what His purpose is for us each day. \u00a0To stay in His word we find words of direction, hope, peace, rest…. To stay in His presence is peace and rest. \u00a0Learn to live in His presence every moment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
