Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:4<\/u><\/u><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
James writes:\u00a0\u2018Be glad, even if you have a lot of trouble. You know that you learn to endure by having your faith tested. But you must learn to endure everything, so that you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything. If any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given you\u2026But when you ask\u2026you must have faith\u2026Anyone who doubts is like an ocean wave tossed around in a storm. If you are that kind of person, you can\u2019t make up your mind, and you surely can\u2019t be trusted. So don\u2019t expect the Lord to give you anything at all\u2019 (vv. 2-8).<\/i>\u00a0Note three things in this Scripture:\u00a01) Your faith grows when it\u2019s tested.\u00a0<\/strong>You\u2019ll never know the strength of your anchor until you feel the blast of the storm.\u00a02) God will give you wisdom to handle the test.<\/strong>\u00a0Now, He won\u2019t answer all your \u2018whys\u2019. So instead of questioning Him, you need to pray, \u2018Lord, how do You want to use this trial to develop me spiritually? How can I co-operate with You to reap the maximum benefit? What changes do You desire to bring about in my life?\u2019 Those are questions God will answer.\u00a03) You must be willing to obey.<\/strong>\u00a0It\u2019s possible to ask God for wisdom, then debate, stall, or mess around trying to decide whether or not to obey Him. If you\u2019re that kind of person\u2026don\u2019t expect the Lord to give you anything at all.
