\u00a0\u201cNow faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Psalms 116:10<\/b>\u00a0<\/a><\/span>\u00a0I believed, even when I spoke: \u201cI am greatly afflicted\u201d<\/p>\n

2 Corinthians 4:13<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, \u201cI believed, and so I spoke,\u201d we also believe, and so we also speak,<\/p>\n

Numbers 14:6-9<\/b><\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0And Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes\u00a0\u00a0and said to all the congregation of the people of Israel, \u201cThe land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceedingly good land.\u00a0\u00a0If the LORD delights in us, he will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land that flows with milk and honey.\u00a0\u00a0Only do not rebel against the LORD. And do not fear the people of the land, for they are bread for us. Their protection is removed from them, and the LORD is with us; do not fear them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Proverbs 21:28<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0A false witness will perish, but the word of a man who hears will endure.<\/p>\n

2 Peter 1:16<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.<\/p>\n

2 Peter 1:21<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

\u00a0“I believed, so I spoke<\/em>” –\u00a0 \u00a0David was greatly afflicted yet he said “I believed, so I spoke<\/em>“.\u00a0 He spoke what he believed about God.\u00a0 He believed in the power, might, strength, sovereignty, mercy and love of God.<\/p>\n

Joshua and Caleb spoke what they believed when the people were grumbling and wanting to pick a new leader, replace Moses and go back to Egypt.\u00a0 \u00a0If you remember the other 8 who went to scout out the land gave negative reports – they too spoke what they believed.<\/p>\n

“Out of the abundance of the heart we speak<\/em>.” What was in the heart of the other 8 who scouted out the land compared to Joshua and Caleb.\u00a0 Why did they not see and believe what the hand of God can do like Joshua and Caleb?\u00a0 Doubt and fear are two volcanos that can erupt when life’s uncertainty, through trials and troubles arise.\u00a0 These are not uncommon responses to\u00a0 mankind.\u00a0 \u00a0However, they are to be recognized and taken captive.\u00a0Fear and doubt will not honor God.\u00a0 Belief, trust, faith, and hope honor God.\u00a0 They also give us a firm foundation to speak of our circumstances in light of His promises.\u00a0 Fill your heart with His word, your mind with His promises, and speak what you believe.<\/p>\n
