\u201cSo Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, \u201cIf you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples,\u201d<\/p>\n
John 6:60<\/b>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0When many of his disciples heard it, they said, \u201cThis is a hard saying; who can listen to it?\u201d \u00a0But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were grumbling about this, said to them, \u201cDo you take offense at this? \u00a0Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? \u00a0It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. \u00a0But there are some of you who do not believe.\u201d (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.) \u00a0And he said, \u201cThis is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.\u201d \u00a0After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. \u00a0So Jesus said to the twelve, \u201cDo you want to go away as well?\u201d<\/p>\n Matthew 11:6<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.\u201d<\/p>\n Hebrews 5:11<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing<\/p>\n 2 Peter 3:16<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.<\/p>\n Jesus had just told them that He was the bread of life and to eat of this would give them life. For this many\u00a0walked away. \u00a0I wonder if we are like this when we choose to stay away from His word. \u00a0If God’s word is not permeating our life what is feeding our spiritual soul? \u00a0Apart from His word, nothing. We will waste away, drift away, and lack that which gives us joy, hope, faith, love, kindness, strength, power, grace and mercy. \u00a0These are seeds that need spiritual watering from His word.
