Joh 6:48<\/b>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 I am the bread of life. \u00a0Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. \u00a0This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. \u00a0I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.\u201d \u00a0The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, \u201cHow can this man give us his flesh to eat?\u201d \u00a0So Jesus said to them, \u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. \u00a0Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. \u00a0For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. \u00a0Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. \u00a0As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. \u00a0This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.\u201d\u00a0Jesus said these things in the synagogue, as he taught at Capernaum.<\/p>\n

John 4:10<\/b>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 Jesus answered her, \u201cIf you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, \u2018Give me a drink,\u2019 you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.\u201d \u00a0The woman said to him, \u201cSir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? \u00a0Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.\u201d \u00a0Jesus said to her, \u201cEveryone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, \u00a0but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.\u201d The woman said to him, \u201cSir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bread of life and Living water. \u00a0Two like teachings that were both received differently. \u00a0Both people at the time of these teachings asked questions but only one said “Sir give me this water”. \u00a0Eating and drinking would indicate that these are essential for life, eternal life. \u00a0The willingness to say yes intrigues me. \u00a0I wonder what my response would have been on either example. \u00a0I don’t have to wonder much because without the drawing and leading from God, it would have been the same doubtful response. \u00a0Never underestimate the impact God will have in your life if you are wanting and willing and desiring Him. \u00a0He is the true One where we can find hope for eternal life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
