1 Chronicles 28:9<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0\u201cAnd you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. Jeremiah 17:9<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?<\/p>\n

Proverbs 28:26<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.<\/p>\n

We don’t have to look very far into our heart to see self pride \u00a0poking up. The closer we are to God the more our sinful nature is exposed. \u00a0We easily find thoughts entering our mind about something we have done or some plan we have executed that gives way to pride. \u00a0It does us good to remember that all we have is at the hand of God. \u00a0Any wisdom or physical accomplishments come because of what He has given to us. \u00a0We can use these gifts in a way that humbly honors God, or we can use them in a way that shows pride in our heart and mind trying to bring the honor and praise to ourselves. \u00a0I think this is common to all mankind and is a battle we must fight every waking moment. \u00a0Our purpose this side of eternity is to humbly serve, honor, follow, and obey God. \u00a0\u00a0The only way to escape pride is with our heart, mind, eyes, and ears turned to Him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
