\u201cThe Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cand many peoples shall come, and say: \u201cCome, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd we bring you the good news that what God promised to the fathers,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

John 1:35<\/b>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples, \u00a0and he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, \u201cBehold, the Lamb of God!\u201d \u00a0The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.\u00a0 \u00a0Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, \u201cWhat are you seeking?\u201d And they said to him, \u201cRabbi\u201d (which means Teacher), \u201cwhere are you staying?\u201d \u00a0He said to them, \u201cCome and you will see.\u201d So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour. \u00a0One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.\u00a0 He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, \u201cWe have found the Messiah\u201d (which means Christ).\u00a0 \u00a0He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, \u201cYou are Simon the son of John. You shall be called Cephas\u201d (which means Peter)<\/p>\n

2 Kings 7:9<\/b><\/a>\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Then they said to one another, \u201cWe are not doing right. This day is a day of good news. If we are silent and wait until the morning light, punishment will overtake us. Now therefore come; let us go and tell the king’s household.\u201d<\/p>\n

1 John 1:3<\/b><\/a>\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n

The verses that stands out today are\u00a0“He first found his own brother Simon and said to him,<\/em> \u201cWe have found the Messiah\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and as well\u00a0“We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news.” \u00a0\u00a0<\/em>both speak of the urgency people had to tell others things\u00a0of God. \u00a0How are people to hear of this Good News if we do not speak of it? \u00a0When we do speak of\u00a0this Good News others are changed. \u00a0Do not lose sight of our urgent calling to proclaim the Good News of the gospel of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
