Psalms 79:1<\/b>\u00a0<\/a> O God, the nations have come into your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple; they have laid Jerusalem in ruins.\u00a0 \u00a0They have given the bodies of your servants to the birds of the heavens for food, the flesh of your faithful to the beasts of the earth.\u00a0 \u00a0They have poured out their blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there was no one to bury them.\u00a0 \u00a0We have become a taunt to our neighbors, mocked and derided by those around us.\u00a0 \u00a0How long, O LORD? Will you be angry forever? Will your jealousy burn like fire?\u00a0 \u00a0Pour out your anger on the nations that do not know you, and on the kingdoms that do not call upon your name!\u00a0 \u00a0For they have devoured Jacob and laid waste his habitation.\u00a0 \u00a0Do not remember against us our former iniquities; let your compassion come speedily to meet us, for we are brought very low.\u00a0 \u00a0Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name; deliver us, and atone for our sins, for your name’s sake!\u00a0 \u00a0Why should the nations say, \u00a0 \u201cWhere is their God?\u201d Let the avenging of the outpoured blood of your servants be known among the nations before our eyes!\u00a0 \u00a0Let the groans of the prisoners come before you; according to your great power, preserve those doomed to die! \u00a0\u00a0Return sevenfold into the lap of our neighbors the taunts with which they have taunted you, O Lord!\u00a0 \u00a0But we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise.<\/p>\n

Being mindful of God and living for Him can advert many trials brought on by our actions. \u00a0Note the writer does not question the fact that their trials were because of their “Not living in line with God”. \u00a0The request for God’s compassion to over look past iniquities and come to their rescue is a heart that is ready to return to God. \u00a0Why is it we, like they, \u00a0run to God in times of trials and trouble but run\/drift away from Him in times of blessing. \u00a0Stay close to God, and choose to live for Him. \u00a0Giving your whole mind, heart, and soul to honoring Him in what you say, think, and do will give present and lasting reward.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
