“I desire to do your will, my God;
\nyour law is within my heart.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hosea 6:6
\nFor I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice<\/strong>,
\nthe knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.<\/p>\n

1 Samuel 15:22
\nBut Samuel replied:
\n\u201cDoes the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
\nas much as in obeying the Lord?
\nTo obey is better than sacrifice,<\/strong>
\nand to heed is better than the fat of rams.<\/strong>
\nFor rebellion is like the sin of divination,
\nand arrogance like the evil of idolatry.
\nBecause you have rejected the word of the Lord,
\nhe has rejected you as king.\u201d<\/p>\n

Isaiah 1:11
\n\u201cThe multitude of your sacrifices\u2014
\nwhat are they to me?\u201d says the Lord.
\n\u201cI have more than enough of burnt offerings,
\nof rams and the fat of fattened animals;
\nI have no pleasure
\nin the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.
\nWhen you come to appear before me,
\nwho has asked this of you,
\nthis trampling of my courts?
\nStop bringing meaningless offerings<\/strong>!
\nYour incense is detestable to me.
\nNew Moons, Sabbaths and convocations\u2014
\nI cannot bear your worthless assemblies.
\nYour New Moon feasts and your appointed festivals
\nI hate with all my being.
\nThey have become a burden to me;
\nI am weary of bearing them.
\nWhen you spread out your hands in prayer,
\nI hide my eyes from you;
\neven when you offer many prayers,
\nI am not listening.
\nYour hands are full of blood!
\nWash and make yourselves clean.
\nTake your evil deeds out of my sight;
\nstop doing wrong.
\nLearn to do right; seek justice.<\/strong>
\n Defend the oppressed.<\/strong>
\n Take up the cause of the fatherless;<\/strong>
\n plead the case of the widow.<\/strong>
\n \u201cCome now, let us settle the matter,\u201d<\/strong>
\n says the Lord.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jeremiah 4:22
\n\u201cMy people are fools;<\/strong>
\n they do not know me.<\/strong>
\n They are senseless children;<\/strong>
\n they have no understanding.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mica 6:8
\nHe has shown you, O mortal, what is good.<\/strong>
\n And what does the Lord require of you?<\/strong>
\n To act justly and to love mercy<\/strong>
\n and to walk humbly with your God.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Matt 12:32
\nWell said, teacher,\u201d the man replied. \u201cYou are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

I recently spent time in Roatan, Honduras and met some fine young men. \u00a0The one thing I was so encouraged about was their heart for God and how open they were to talk about it. \u00a0There was no desire on their part to impress or judge it was a pure heart to talk about God and their walk and struggles with this walk. \u00a0Their heart desire was to seek knowledge and understanding of His word and being able to apply it in their lives. \u00a0These young men have struggles that we can’t even comprehend. \u00a0Little or no father figure in their lives, cultural pressure from their friends, lack of consistent water, food, shelter, clothes, and yet they have chosen to serve, honor and glorify God. \u00a0They spoke openly about sometimes not walking close to \u00a0Him and I was so humbled by this openness. \u00a0When we talk about how we are doing in our walk with God we don’t seem to open up and speak about all that sets us back. \u00a0Even worse is sometimes we don’t even see how lacking we are. \u00a0We pretend or perform trying to make ourselves right before God and man in our own eyes. \u00a0The truth escapes us in this matter because we lack knowledge and understanding which comes from His word in our hearts and minds. \u00a0I wonder if our submission to Christ is nothing more than an insurance policy against eternity in hell. \u00a0How sad is this? \u00a0Rather than being open and honest about our time in God’s word and application of it in our thoughts and actions we shrug it off because we don’t \u00a0see immediate need or find time. \u00a0 I am not sure if I will see these young men again – I certainly plan on it – their names are written on my heart “Bebe, Jorvick, Pablo, Menfy, Hubert, Richard, Jonny, Jason, Christopher, Bryan, Carry, Oral”. \u00a0Please keep them in your prayers of protection, guidance, and blessing from God.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
