\u201ctherefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you make your heart like the heart of a god,\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSon of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord GOD: \u201cBecause your heart is proud, and you have said, \u2018I am a god, I sit in the seat of the gods, in the heart of the seas,\u2019 yet you are but a man, and no god, though you make your heart like the heart of a god\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Zechariah 9:2<\/b>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0 Tyre and Sidon, though they are very wise.\u00a0Tyre has built herself a rampart and heaped up silver like dust, and fine gold like the mud of the streets.\u00a0But behold, the Lord will strip her of her possessions and strike down her power on the sea, and she shall be devoured by fire.<\/p>\n

Ezekiel 27:33<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0When your wares came from the seas, you satisfied many peoples; with your abundant wealth and merchandise you enriched the kings of the earth.<\/p>\n

Ezekiel 28:4<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 by your wisdom and your understanding you have made wealth for yourself, and have gathered gold and silver into your treasuries;\u00a0\u00a0by your great wisdom in your trade you have increased your wealth, and your heart has become proud in your wealth<\/p>\n

Ezekiel 28:6<\/b>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you make your heart like the heart of a god,\u00a0therefore, behold, I will bring foreigners upon you, the most ruthless of the nations; and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom and defile your splendor. \u00a0They shall thrust you down into the pit, and you shall die the death of the slain in the heart of the seas.\u00a0Will you still say, \u2018I am a god,\u2019 in the presence of those who kill you, though you are but a man, and no god, in the hands of those who slay you?<\/p>\n

Job 9:4<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0He is wise in heart and mighty in strength \u2014who has hardened himself against him, and succeeded?\u2014<\/p>\n

1 Corinthians 10:22<\/b><\/a>\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Shall we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?<\/p>\n

James 1:11<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.<\/p>\n

God asks us to humbly serve, honor, praise, worship, follow and obey Him. \u00a0In this we acknowledge His sovereignty, power, might, over all there is. \u00a0Our heart knows that all comes from Him and we live in such a way that all glory, honor and praise goes to Him. \u00a0It is up to us to continue to walk in this humble service. \u00a0Our hope is not set on things we can see, touch, or own. \u00a0Our hope is on Him who alone is able to save and redeem us for eternal life with Him. \u00a0He is also the one who condemns those of proud and hardened hearts to eternal judgement. \u00a0We all have seen the wealthy and proud people, leaders, and nations fall. \u00a0Is this not at the hand of God? \u00a0Trust not unto your own understanding but lean onto God who is steadfast in taking care of those who choose to humbly serve Him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
