Proverbs 22:6<\/span>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.<\/span><\/p>\n
Psalms 78:3-6\u00a0 things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us.\u00a0<\/span> \u00a0We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children,<\/span> \u00a0that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children,<\/span><\/h2>\n
Ephesians 6:4\u00a0\u00a0Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.<\/span><\/h2>\n
\nDeuteronomy 6:7\u00a0\u00a0You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
\n\nDeuteronomy 4:9\u00a0\u00a0\u201cOnly take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children’s children<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n
Initiate, start, dedicate, train up<\/em>\u2014all are in the semantic range of meaning when it comes to raising a child so he will not leave the moral and spiritual \u201cway\u201d when he is old. The book of Proverbs suggests two primary means for raising a child in \u201cthe way\u201d: instruction and correction (discipline). Instruction identifies the way and starts him on it; correction puts him back on the way should he stray from it.<\/p>\n
