\nEph 6:13-15<\/span>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
\u201cStand therefore.\u201d What an incredible challenge! It takes courage to stand. Yet before courage comes determination. Human calculations will always find a thousand reasonable reasons to stand down or quit, which may sound good, but are usually wrong.<\/p>\n
Imagine how Moses felt when God called him to lead the children of Israel and speak to Pharaoh. Moses convinced himself that he wasn\u2019t eloquent enough because he stuttered. God\u2019s answer?\u00a0\u201cWho has made man\u2019s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD? Now therefore, go….\u201d<\/em>\u00a0(Exodus 4:11-12). And Moses went in God\u2019s power.<\/p>\n
When God called Jeremiah to be a prophet to the nations, he protested that he was too young (Jeremiah 1:6). Jeremiah felt unqualified and inadequate because of his lack of experience. God\u2019s answer? \u201cDo not say, \u2018I am a youth,\u2019 for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak\u201d\u00a0<\/em>(Jeremiah 1:7-8). And Jeremiah spoke God\u2019s words.<\/p>\n
There is a story of a California miner who grew tired of chip, chip, chipping every day in his search for gold and gave up. He sold his claim to another, who soon discovered what the other had given up on. Remember, fear or feelings may tempt you to stop what you\u2019re doing, but it is always too soon to quit.<\/p>\n
God is calling you to stand. Whether it\u2019s ministry, a hostile work environment, remaining steadfast in your marriage commitment, or some other arena, determine in your mind and heart to stand therefore. (Hibbs)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
