{"id":14,"date":"2016-03-10T22:02:33","date_gmt":"2016-03-10T22:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/prayingpint.com\/?p=14"},"modified":"2016-03-17T22:03:10","modified_gmt":"2016-03-17T22:03:10","slug":"testing-the-lord","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.prayingpint.com\/index.php\/2016\/03\/10\/testing-the-lord\/","title":{"rendered":"Testing the Lord"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"\">I read these verses and wonder when I have tested the Lord rather than trusted Him.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\">Matthew 4:7<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Jesus said to him, \u201cAgain it is written, \u2018Y<b class=\"\">ou shall not put the Lord your God to the test<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Isaiah 7:10<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Again the Lord spoke to Ahaz, \u201cAsk a sign of the Lord your God; let it be deep as Sheol or high as heaven.\u201d But Ahaz said, \u201c<b class=\"\">I will not ask, and I will not put the Lord to the test<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Deuteronomy 6:16<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201c<b class=\"\">You shall not put the Lord your God to the test,<\/b> as you tested him at Massah. You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies and his statutes, which he has commanded you. <b class=\"\">And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may go well with you<\/b><\/p>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\">Exodus 17:5<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Moses said to them, \u201cWhy do you quarrel with me? <b class=\"\">Why do you test the Lord?<\/b>\u201d But the people thirsted there for water, and the people grumbled against Moses and said, \u201cWhy did you bring us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?\u201d So Moses cried to the Lord, \u201cWhat shall I do with this people? They are almost ready to stone me.\u201d And the Lord said to Moses, \u201cPass on before the people, taking with you some of the elders of Israel, and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb, and you shall strike the rock, and water shall come out of it, and the people will drink.\u201d And Moses did so, in the sight of the elders of Israel. And he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah,<b class=\"\"> because of the quarreling of the people of Israel, and because they tested the Lord by saying, \u201cIs the Lord among us or not<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I read these verses and wonder when I have tested the Lord rather than trusted Him.
