Psa 50:<\/b><\/a>7\u00a0 <\/b>\u201cHear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify against you. I am God, your God.\u00a0Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you; your burnt offerings are continually before me\u00a0I will not accept a bull from your house or goats from your folds.\u00a0For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.\u00a0I know all the birds of the hills, and all that moves in the field is mine.\u00a0\u201cIf I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and its fullness are mine.\u00a0Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?\u00a0Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High\u00a0and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.\u201d\u00a0But to the wicked God says: \u201cWhat right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips?\u00a0For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you.\u00a0If you see a thief, you are pleased with him, and you keep company with adulterers.\u00a0\u201cYou give your mouth free rein for evil, and your tongue frames deceit.\u00a0You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother’s son.\u00a0These things you have done, and I have been silent; you thought that I was one like yourself. But now I rebuke you and lay the charge before you.\u00a0\u201cMark this, then, you who forget God, lest I tear you apart, and there be none to deliver!<\/p>\n

Isaiah 48:22<\/b><\/a>\u00a0 <\/b>\u00a0\u00a0\u201cThere is no peace,\u201d says the LORD, \u201cfor the wicked.\u201d<\/p>\n

Isaiah 58:1<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u201cCry aloud; do not hold back; lift up your voice like a trumpet; declare to my people their transgression, to the house of Jacob their sins.\u00a0\u00a0Yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake the judgment of their God; they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near to God.\u00a0\u00a0\u2018Why have we fasted, and you see it not? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you take no knowledge of it?\u2019 Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure, and oppress all your workers.\u00a0\u00a0Behold, you fast only to quarrel and to fight and to hit with a wicked fist. Fasting like yours this day will not make your voice to be heard on high.\u00a0\u00a0Is such the fast that I choose, a day for a person to humble himself? Is it to bow down his head like a reed, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and a day acceptable to the LORD?\u00a0\u00a0\u201cIs not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?\u00a0\u00a0Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?<\/p>\n

Matthew 7:22<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0On that day many will say to me, \u2018Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?\u2019\u00a0\u00a0And then will I declare to them, \u2018I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.\u2019<\/p>\n

This is what God says: “For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you.” \u00a0“But now I rebuke you and lay the charge before you.\u00a0\u201cMark this, then, you who forget God, lest I tear you apart, and there be none to deliver!” and “And then will I declare to them, \u2018I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.” \u00a0Do we see these comments directed at us or someone else? \u00a0Do we look intently into our heart with God’s word and seeking for Him to expose our luke warmness toward humbly serving, honoring, following and obeying Him? \u00a0Do we choose to hear His voice through His word? \u00a0If we are not choosing to spend time in His word how will we recognize Him speaking to us? \u00a0How will we know how to humbly serve, or honor, or trust, or glorify, or follow and obey Him? \u00a0Do we think for a minute that this comes through osmosis? \u00a0No we must dedicate ourselves to it, desire it, and recognize the culture we live in is trying to (and easily does) pull us away for meaningless matters that do nothing for our soul and robs us of our purpose for God. \u00a0Choose this day to make a change. \u00a0Choose to spend time in His word and encourage others to do the same.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
