The rich man also died and was buried,\u00a0and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.\u00a0And he called out, \u2018Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.\u2019\u00a0But Abraham said, \u2018Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish.\u00a0And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.\u2019\u00a0And he said, \u2018Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house\u2014\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0for I have five brothers\u2014so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.\u2019\u00a0But Abraham said, \u2018They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.\u2019\u00a0And he said, \u2018No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.\u2019\u00a0He said to him, \u2018If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

“To whom will you flee for help, and where will you leave your wealth?” It is a great question isn’t it. \u00a0Everything we see around us will have an end. \u00a0All we collect, all we save, all the things we strive for come to an end. \u00a0If it all comes to end and none of it comes with us why do we work so hard to have \u00a0and own it like it does? \u00a0Oh the our eyes and hearts would be ever open to understand that our purpose this short side of eternity is to humbly serve, honor, glory, follow, and obey God. \u00a0All other is distraction and must be seen in light of this sole purpose. \u00a0We are nothing more than stewards of what God has given us. \u00a0As faithful followers we need to be mindful of the responsibility that comes humbly serving Him. \u00a0Give more, take less, be thankful more, content more, and rest in God’s sovereign plan. \u00a0Know we will be judged for this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
