After being drafted by Indianapolis, NFL quarterback Sam Ehlinger was asked how he felt preparing for possibly starting in an NFL game. He replied, \u201cJust the perspective that I\u2019ve been able to gain through adversity, through life\u2014things in my life\u2014it\u2019s really put into perspective what we\u2019re on this earth to do.\u201d He was thinking of the deaths of his father and brother.<\/p>\n

Ehlinger, a Christian, said that football is just a game. \u201cAnd as much as everybody here loves it, and as much money that flows into the business and things that happen like that, at the end of the day it is just a sport.\u201d He said he didn\u2019t want to make football his life or his death. And afterward he tweeted a picture of Matthew 6:19-21\u2014underlined in his Bible and bearing this caption: \u201cWe will spend a short amount of time here compared to eternity!\u201d[1]<\/p>\n

While the things of this world are passing away, we\u2019re promised eternal life. We mustn\u2019t place our trust in the world. God uses adversity to help us keep our perspective on what we\u2019re on earth to do.
\nLet\u2019s keep our eyes on eternity!<\/p>\n
