\nMatthew 1:18\u00a0 <\/span>Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>Deuteronomy 22:21-24<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done an outrageous thing in Israel by whoring in her father’s house. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cIf a man is found lying with the wife of another man, both of them shall die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman. So you shall purge the evil from Israel.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cIf there is a betrothed virgin, and a man meets her in the city and lies with her,\u00a0\u00a0then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbor’s wife. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>Psalms 112:4-5<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.\u00a0\u00a0It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
\u201cJoseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly\u201d. I can\u2019t imagine what was going through the mind of Joseph when he learned that his wife was pregnant and that it was not by him. Rage, anger, hate, confusion, worry, embarrassment, etc\u2026. would all seem both normal and appropriate.\u00a0 <\/span>However, Joseph chose not to go down these paths.\u00a0 <\/span>He chose to discard these thoughts and actions.\u00a0 <\/span>He chose to be just in a time where it certainly would have been very easy not to be. He did not allow his hurt to overshadow and block doing what would honor and glorify God.\u00a0 <\/span>That is not something that just happens.\u00a0 <\/span>It is from living and choosing that way. We always have a choice.\u00a0 <\/span>There is a way that seems right to man, but in the end, it leads to death. We have free will to choose to live to honor and glorify God or not. When we allow what seems right to overshadow that which is right God is not honored and glorified. Living to honor and glorify God is not a singular event or two during our life. It is a way of life where the presence of God is so real in our hearts, mind, and souls that every thought, every word, and every act is done in the light of His presence.\u00a0 <\/span>I heard someone say you don\u2019t want to have God catch you doing something wrong.\u00a0 <\/span>The fact is God already knows. He knows our thoughts and actions before they even occur.\u00a0 <\/span>Let our thoughts and actions, therefore, be in this light with our deepest desire to always think, speak, and do that which honors Him alone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
