{"id":110227,"date":"2021-01-27T03:51:04","date_gmt":"2021-01-27T09:51:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.prayingpint.com\/?p=110227"},"modified":"2021-01-23T09:57:26","modified_gmt":"2021-01-23T15:57:26","slug":"19-a","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.prayingpint.com\/index.php\/2021\/01\/27\/19-a\/","title":{"rendered":"19.a. &#8220;The works of the flesh are evident&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Galatians 5:19\u00a0 \u00a0 <span id=\"en-NKJV-29182\" class=\"text Gal-5-19\">Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,\u00a0fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-29183\" class=\"text Gal-5-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-29184\" class=\"text Gal-5-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21\u00a0<\/sup>envy, murders,\u00a0drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told\u00a0<i>you<\/i> in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-29185\" class=\"text Gal-5-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22\u00a0<\/sup>But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-29186\" class=\"text Gal-5-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23\u00a0<\/sup>gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-29187\" class=\"text Gal-5-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24\u00a0<\/sup>And those\u00a0<i>who are<\/i>\u00a0Christ\u2019s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-29188\" class=\"text Gal-5-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25\u00a0<\/sup>If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-29189\" class=\"text Gal-5-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26\u00a0<\/sup>Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>How would you define the word\u00a0<em>attitude?\u00a0<\/em>Wikipedia calls it \u201ca psychological construct, a mental and emotional entity that\u2026characterizes a person\u2026.It is an individual\u2019s predisposed state of mind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The real question isn\u2019t how we define the word\u00a0<em>attitude<\/em>, but how our attitudes are defining us. The Bible tells us that Christ wants us to be defined by His attitudes. Philippians 2:5 says, \u201cYou must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had\u201d (NLT).<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s take that a step further. Isn\u2019t that the true implication of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23? Maybe we could paraphrase it like this: \u201cAs you grow in Christ, the Holy Spirit will produce in you the very attitudes\u2014the predisposed state of mind\u2014of Jesus Himself, which is more love, more joy, more peace, more patience, more kindness, more goodness, more faithfulness, more gentleness, and more self-control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Our attitude is important when it comes to our heart of obedience to the Father. If you have some unhealthy attitudes today, ask God to replace them with those of Jesus.
