For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.\u2019\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A close friend of mine told me that while he and his 9 year old daughter was shopping they stopped and looked at a nativity scene for sale.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>As they were looking at it the daughter said, \u201c I don\u2019t understand\u201d, He said what don\u2019t you understand?\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>She said, \u201ceverything in this nativity set costs the same, shouldn\u2019t baby Jesus cost more?\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This purity of this question hit me like a hammer to my heart.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We understand that the price of these pieces is related to the cost to make it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>She understood something more &#8211; how precious Jesus is compared to everything else. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">We can go a thousand places with this.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Is Jesus more precious than my family, friends, work, money, health, car, boat, guns, tools, clothes, possessions, etc\u2026.?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Do I give lip service to saying yes but my actions do not reflect the glory and honor deserved for Jesus?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Do I harbor greed, pride, self-worth, self-reliance, hate, anger, fear, and anxiousness? Do I rest in His sovereign hands? Do I surrender each day to His leading? Do I seek and desire to know Him more and more? Do I seek and desire to honor and glorify Him above self?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Do I live to bring Him honor and glory?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Do I keep my focus on eternity or the worldly?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jesus Christ is the Son of God.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>He came to earth to redeem mankind.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>He suffered and died for my sin, your sin.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>He did this out of grace, mercy, and love. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">If the true worth of baby Jesus was revealed in the price in a nativity set, we could never afford it even if all of the fortunes in the world were combined. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0He is worth all you have, all you have to give, and worthy of all honor, glory, and praise in all we think, say, and do.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Luke 2:10-12\u00a0 \u00a0 \u201cThen the angel said to them, \u2018Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.
