John 11:17\u00a0 <\/span>Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days. Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles off, and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother. So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house. Martha said to Jesus, \u201cLord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.\u201d Jesus said to her, \u201cYour brother will rise again.\u201d Martha said to him, \u201cI know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.\u201d Jesus said to her, \u201cI am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?\u201d She said to him, \u201cYes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Romans 8:11<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>2 Corinthians 4:14<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Philippians 3:20-21<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,\u00a0\u00a0who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>1 Thessalonians 4:14<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Revelation 20:10-15<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.\u00a0\u00a0Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.\u00a0\u00a0And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.\u00a0\u00a0And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.\u00a0\u00a0Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.\u00a0\u00a0And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cThose that believe in Jesus Christ appear to die, but yet they live. They are not in the grave, they are forever\u00a0with the Lord. They are not unconscious they are with their Lord in Paradise. Death cannot kill a believer, it can only usher him into a freer form of life.\u201d \u201cDeath comes to the ungodly man as a penal infliction, but to the righteous as a summons to his Father\u2019s palace: to the sinner it is an execution, to the saint an undressing. Death to the wicked is the King of terrors: death to the saint is the end of terrors, the commencement of glory.\u201d (Spurgeon)<\/p>\n

At death, there is rejoicing for those who believe and regret for those who reject and deny Jesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>Scripture is clear and yet so many reject the grace, mercy, and love of Jesus Christ. Denying Jesus Christ has earthly effects, but the most important is it has eternal consequences.\u00a0 <\/span>We never truly know when death will knock on our door.\u00a0 <\/span>We can be ready for that knock and rejoice to know our home is in heaven and we will be with Jesus forever more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
