{"id":100621,"date":"2020-10-02T04:41:20","date_gmt":"2020-10-02T09:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.prayingpint.com\/?p=100621"},"modified":"2020-09-29T07:07:12","modified_gmt":"2020-09-29T12:07:12","slug":"15-k","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.prayingpint.com\/index.php\/2020\/10\/02\/15-k\/","title":{"rendered":"15.k.  \u201cDo you want to be healed?\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p2\">John 5:1<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, in Aramaic called Bethesda, which has five roofed colonnades. In these lay a multitude of invalids\u2014blind, lame, and paralyzed. One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, \u201cDo you want to be healed?\u201d The sick man answered him, \u201cSir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.\u201d Jesus said to him, \u201cGet up, take up your bed, and walk.\u201d And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">The crippled man assumed Jesus knew how things worked at the Pool of Bethesda, and he explained to Jesus why it wasn\u2019t possible for him to be healed. Quite naturally, the man couldn\u2019t think of any other way for his need to be met.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The man was an interesting case of hope combined with hopelessness. He had hope, or would never have come to the Pool of Bethesda. Yet once there, he had little hope to be the favored one to win the healing that day.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cThe invalid man does what we nearly all do. He limits God\u2019s help to his own ideas and does not dare promise himself more that he conceives in his mind.\u201d\u00a0Jesus told the man to do what he could not do.\u00a0Jesus challenged the man to believe Him for the impossible. It\u2019s easy to imagine that the man\u2019s first reaction was,\u00a0<i>I can\u2019t do that \u2013 why even try?<\/i>\u00a0Yet something wonderful prompted the man to say,\u00a0<i>If this man tells me to do it, I will try<\/i>. Jesus guided the man towards a response of faith.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Do you notice that the invalid did not ask any question of Jesus?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>He did not say, \u201chow am I supposed to get up and walk?\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>He just did what Jesus told him to do, he got up and walked.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>He believed in Jesus who spoke the words to him. Jesus did not touch him.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It was by His word the man was healed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">There is no limit to the power of Jesus Christ.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In all things, He is mightier than whatever it is we are facing.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In all things Jesus is supreme.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>At His word all creation took place.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>At His word nations were defeated, lions tamed, seas calmed, the sick healed, and the dead brought back to life.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It is faith in Him that we will find peace for today and hope for tomorrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John 5:1\u00a0 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
